Why does Facial Reflexology Work?
Facial reflexology is designed to identify imbalances and compromises to your health, but it also helps to address these compromises. Your face contains many nerves and blood vessels. The stimulation works through the central nervous system moving to specific organs and systems to regulate your blood, lymph, body functions, and hormones.
It’s easy to forget how much tension and stress our facial muscles are holding and transmitting to our entire body. This tension is created by mundane activities such as chewing, grinding teeth, straining eyes, and even laughing. Our face is the first place where we exhibit our emotions or suppress them.
What to Expect:
You’ll find this session to be soothing and noninvasive. You’ll remain completely clothed at all times. I’ll welcome you into my treatment room, where you’ll relax on the massage table. Light oil is applied to the face to assist in the technique. It conditions the face, leaving the skin more supple, toned, and healthier. I’ll then begin the reflexology process.
What’s Happening in a Session?
When I’m doing reflexology, I’m feeling for little calcium deposits that attach to the nerve endings. When I find the deposits on a known reflex point, that tells me there’s some imbalance in that corresponding area of the body. The imbalance could be physical or emotional, but reflexology helps me identify that there’s some imbalance, blockage, or stagnant energy.
My goal is to find these and to help your body release the calcium deposits. As I do this, your body sends oxygen and blood flow up through the nerve endings so that the body can release its endorphins for natural recovery and natural pain relief.
As an added benefit, our reflexology work on your face utilizes skin improvement and uplifting techniques that will leave you looking fresh.
I often suggest adding a Light and Sound Vibration Therapy session to your reflexology appointment in order to enhance the energetic benefits.
