What is Foot Reflexology?
Reflexology, a practice discovered and used by many ancient cultures, is used with great success in our world today.
Throughout the ages, healers in various cultures discovered that the state of the extremities reflected disorders within the body, especially in the case of the hands and feet. Through further observation and experimentation, healers in distant and separate areas of the world found that stimulating tender spots in the extremities resulted in relief from disease and improvement in health. Today, we call this practice “reflexology.”
Nerve endings on the foot can reveal deeper issues within the body.
When I use reflexology in my practice, I feel for small calcium deposits that might be attached to the nerve endings. When I find a deposit on a known reflex point, it reveals an imbalance in the corresponding area of the body. The imbalance can be physical or emotional. In either case, reflexology lets me identify an imbalance, blockage, or stagnant energy that needs to be corrected.
Reflexology brings relief and recovery to affected areas of the body.
My goal is to find these affected areas and help your body release the calcium deposits. As I do this, your body sends oxygen and increased blood flow up through the nerve endings. This encourages your body to release endorphins for natural recovery and effective pain relief.
What About Facial Reflexology?
Facial reflexology is designed to identify imbalances and compromises to your health, but it also helps to address these compromises. Your face contains many nerves and blood vessels. The stimulation works through the central nervous system moving to specific organs and systems to regulate your blood, lymph, body functions, and hormones.
It’s easy to forget how much tension and stress our facial muscles are holding and transmitting to our entire body. This tension is created by mundane activities such as chewing, grinding teeth, straining eyes, and even laughing. Our face is the first place where we exhibit our emotions or suppress them.
As an added benefit, our reflexology work on your face utilizes skin improvement and uplifting techniques that will leave you looking fresh.
I often suggest adding a Light and Sound Vibration Therapy session to your reflexology appointment in order to enhance the energetic benefits.
Possible benefits from reflexology:
Reflexology is a complementary health support technique that promotes natural healing and is not considered a substitute for medical care. However, many who receive reflexology sessions report the following positive results:
- Increased energy
- Enhanced sleep
- Relief from discomfort
- More mobile joints
- Frequent bowel movements due to reflexology’s cleansing and toxin-eliminating effects
